I will be looking a whole lot more into performance architecture and trying to figure out how to create joints that allow for rotation and sliding of pieces on top of each to affect their size in the overall geometry. The result will be something like this video. This “Tunable Sound Cloud” was a parametric response to sound and it actually reacts to input from microphones. At this point I am considering targeting my project to be a response to light, but I do not have it fully figured out yet.
I am looking Mani Mani at FishTnk (which is this video), as well as a few other Adaptive Building Initiative projects such as work from Chuck Hoberman with his Hoberman Spheres. Some of the stuff on the Adaptive Building Initiative site seems most relevant, like this shading system.
