I think I’ve gotten to the point where all I have to iron out are (hopefully) minor technical details. The cutting I did tonight did not include the tab system to hold the slats to the struts, nor the surface, but it was useful in pointing out problems to be addressed in the shading system. With a few exceptions (where the definition doesn’t behave), the thing works pretty much as desired.
