Tri-Surf w/ Arduino

My project involves using a collection of triangles to model a surface, and thus I have decided to name it Tri-Surf. This image shows the layout of the system. There are triangles connected with string to a controlling plate. The plates are either attached to the struts or to a turning wheel.

The plates that are attached to a wheel can be moved in real time via an Arduino controlling a collection of 9 servos. The servos rotate the wheels to pull or loosen the strings connected to the plates. By offsetting the plates, the triangles will change and begin to represent the underlying surface. This image shows the offsets for a surface. These offset distances will then be computed and set to the Arduino, effectively modifying the physical model of the surface.
